SKILLSUSA (2022)

SkillsUSA is a national student competition that showcases various talents from woodworking, engineering, cosmetics to graphic design. I competed in the t-shirt design of SkillsUSA in 2022 by creating a graphic that represented North Carolina for the state competition. My thumbnails utilized different shapes, compositions, and visual elements with each design. I used elements of North Carolina like a cardinal, dogwood, a lighthouse to a city landscape and the mountains. I proceeded with a polygon for the design frame because it had not been used in past competitions. I expanded the shape and rotated it to a vertical composition to create a bigger canvas for my design. Everything was recreated with the pen tool from Adobe Illustrator and no copyright images were used for this project. My t-shirt placed 3rd in the competition.
